The Proof is in the Planting.

Hear from our happy clients:

"Our garden called. Jake and his incredible crew answered. We didn’t need a redo. We wanted to make sense of what was already there and build from that canvas. Jake listened carefully. His knowledge and passion for plants and their power to transform garden spaces was obvious. Consider us now thrilled to see our outside “rooms” take shape! We welcome each season with excitement now that we know something wonderful is always growing."

— Anne & Peter, Forest Hill

I can’t recommend Restorative Landscapes highly enough. Jake was able to turn our wish list into a workable vision while respecting our budget constraints, and delivered on the promised timeline. We are blown away with the results and so grateful for Jake and his team’s care and hard work

— Asha, St. Clair West

We paid Jake and the team at Restorative Landscapes to totally re-do our badly neglected small backyard, including coming up with a design, installing, and providing a plan to maintain it. They went above and beyond, and we absolutely love our new yard. As we requested, it features sustainable local flora, requires relatively little maintenance, and has a woodsy, natural feel despite being a tiny patch of green in the heart of the city. The design was meticulously thought-out to feature bursts of colour through the seasons, and incorporates pre-existing aspects of our yard in clever ways (e.g., using trunks from the weed trees that got cut down as ornamental borders to line the planting areas). To our amazement, the installation was completed in a single day, and the crew was respectful, friendly, and open to our thoughts and input throughout.

More than anything, it's obvious that Jake and the team really love and understand plants. They were quick to identify the things in our overgrown yard that were nice and worth keeping (like a small patch of ramps we had no idea about), and also clear which things are invasive and should be discarded. The communication has been open and good throughout, and we feel like we're getting a truly bespoke experience from folks that take this stuff seriously and take pride in their work. We couldn't recommend them more.

“Jake and the team at Restorative Landscapes are the best of the best. By hiring Restorative Landscapes, you're hiring expert horticultural knowledge, incredible craftsmanship, an array of little known native plants, referrals to exceptional contractors if needed for your project, and first and foremost, professional gardeners. We hired Restorative Landscapes two summers in a row to transform our front and back yards. We couldn't be happier with the results and feel like our home in downtown Toronto is 3x larger because we now can make better use of the outdoor space. You can't go wrong hiring Jake and the team!”

— Peter & Samantha, Cabbagetown

Jake and his crew were professional, timely, and efficient. He really brought my vision for my garden to life and took the time to teach me along the way. Jake is extremely polite and attentive to his customer’s needs. Everyone on my street admires my garden - so much so that two others hired him!

— Sarah, Wychwood

Restorative Landscapes came very highly recommended, and it quickly became evident as to why when observing Jake’s holographic-like approach to landscape design. He simultaneously combined his deep love and knowledge of horticulture and keen eye for design and detail, while respecting the needs and wants of his clients. Jake and the team were friendly, respectful, efficient and completed the work on time and on budget.

As an Interior Designer I have particularly high expectations. My experience with Restorative Landscapes has inspired me to hire the team for another project. I would highly recommend them to anyone who values a trustworthy team committed to providing high quality work while enhancing the lives of homeowners and contributing to the greater, restorative good.

“My back yard in downtown Toronto was just a pad of concrete. We had the concrete removed and Jake & co planted us a food forest with more than 40 species of edible plants. It is amazing! They rerouted the downspouts from the roof, so rainwater is now feeding a rain garden area. They designed the space using permaculture principles, and we're already enjoying fruits, berries, greens, & herbs, while waiting for roots, nuts, and all the rest to develop over time. I couldn't recommend this team more enthusiastically.”

— Frances, Wychwood

“Our BIA was searching for a company to design a garden plan for our planter bed artscape between Bathurst and Gladstone. We are thrilled to have found Restorative Landscapes and the Pollinator Paradise project. Their energy, passion and imagination melds perfectly with the creative hub that is West Queen West. We are proud to be the first bee-friendly Streetscape and feel as though others should follow suit. We hope to see Pollinator Paradises grow all over the West Queen West community.”
